Vermi are worms, there are about 1800 species of worms in the world but only a handful that are actually can be used for commercial purpose due to its eating habits, easy to culture and breed and active in turning kitchen waste into something more useful to soil and vegetation.

There are two types that are mostly been used for making compos, the Red Worms (Lumbricus rubellus) and the Red Wiggler.
